NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT was at the core discourse as one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions, the Union Bank, joined civil servants, policymakers, and international development partners at the country’s first International Civil Service Conference.
The event, held on 25 and 26 June 2025 at Eagle Square Arena in Abuja, spotlighted innovation and digital transformation across the public sector.
Centred on the theme Rejuvenate, Innovate & Accelerate, the conference brought together top government figures and institutional stakeholders to chart a course for more agile, inclusive, and technology-driven public service structures.
Organised by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation in collaboration with the Global Government Forum United Kingdom (UK), the two-day summit prioritised leadership reforms and cross-sector efficiency.
Union Bank, one of Nigeria’s longest-standing financial institutions, lent its voice and backing to the initiative, aligning with its longstanding commitment to modernisation and public-private cooperation.
The Bank’s focus on digital banking and efficient financial services mirrors the government’s agenda for transformation within civil institutions.
Executive Director, North and Public Sector, Mannir Ringim, noted that Union Bank’s involvement stemmed from its belief in the transformative power of collaboration between the public and private sectors.
He said the Bank remains committed to enhancing service delivery in governance through digital platforms that improve transparency and accountability.
The Bank’s participation affirmed its reputation as a leader in enabling structural reforms and economic progress.
With the presence of President Bola Tinubu and high-ranking public sector leaders from across Africa, the conference set a new benchmark for regional cooperation and capacity building within civil service institutions.
Union Bank says its backing of the event reinforces its strategic alignment with national goals and its drive to support Nigeria’s journey toward inclusive, digital-first public administration.
