Glo Supports Nollywood with ‘Radio Voice’ Premiere, and Expands Services in Ogbomoso

THE MUCH-anticipated premiere of Radio Voice took centre stage last Sunday at the Alliance Francaise Mike Adenuga Centre in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The event, which celebrated the release of this powerful film about resilience and transformation, saw an array of Nollywood stars and high-profile guests in attendance.

Starring Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD), who also produced the film, Radio Voice explores the challenges faced by radio professionals, including cyberbullying and personal struggles, while highlighting their triumphs.

Alongside RMD, the movie features performances from Nse Ikpe Etim, Nancy Isime, Deyemi Okanlawon, Damilola Adegbite, and Timini Egbuson.

Supported by the Office of the Vice President, the film reflects the government’s commitment to the Creative Arts and Digital Transformation sectors.

On the red carpet, RMD described Radio Voice as a celebration of the human spirit’s ability to overcome adversity.

“It’s about the life of people on radio and the battles they fight, including cyberbullying,” he explained.

“It’s a movie everyone needs to see.” Reflecting on his return to production, RMD shared his excitement about the new era for filmmaking.

Since its launch in 2003, Globacom has been a steadfast supporter of Nigeria’s entertainment scene.

The company’s sponsorship of major entertainment shows like X Factor, Glo Naija Sings, Battle of the Year, and Dance with Peter has earned it a reputation as the country’s largest corporate backer of the arts.

Globacom continues to offer vital platforms for emerging talent across various entertainment sectors.

Extends Retail Shop in Ogbomoso 

Further extending its reach, the telecommunications giant opened a new retail shop in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, this week. The store aims to make Glo products and services more accessible to local residents.

Ikechukwu Onuekwusi, Globacom’s Retail Sales Chief for Oyo Division, spoke about the company’s commitment to innovation and inclusivity in customer service.

“We aim to provide our customers with easy access to all our services through this new retail platform,” he stated.

The newly opened facility offers a wide range of devices, smartphones, and accessories, as well as services such as SIM registration, phone repairs, and internet configurations. Globacom promises excellent customer service with well-trained staff ready to address all client needs.

Local leaders praised Globacom for its dedication to community service.

Honourable Timothy Oyedokun, Chairman of Ogbomoso South Local Government, commended the company’s consistent contributions to the wellbeing of Nigerians, while Mrs. Olufunke Olaniyi from Ogbomoso North Local Government encouraged locals to take advantage of the new store and its offerings.
